The Houston Fire Department contacted Axiocentric in Summer 2005 wanting to develop an online presence in regards to firefighter training.

Axiocentric has developed and is still developing solutions for the Houston Fire Department. Axiocentric solutions range from the development of the HFD Strategic Simulator website to the HFD Firefighter Online Continuing Education Program.

The HFD Strategic Simulator offers strategic level officer training to fire officers throughout Texas and the United States. The simulator uses interactive technology to simulate live fire situations in a controlled environment.

The Houston Fire Department required a way to promote and advertise their simulator online as well as allow provide class and registration information.

All Texas Firefighter require yearly continuing education to maintain their certifications. The Houston Fire Department was keeping paper records and statics on its more than 3000 members.

The Houston Fire Department realized the need to be able to better track the performance of their members. Axiocentric developed their online training program allowing firefighters to take the courses and exams online.

The statistics generated by the online training system allows the Houston Fire Department to better determine its strengths and weakness and appropriately train its members accordingly.

The Houston Fire Department and Axiocentric are working together with Texas A&M Texas Engineering Extension Service in developing an online training system.

This training system, based on the HFD Online Continuing Education System, will allow Firefighters from across Texas to maintain the Continuing Education online.
